2013 Local Farm Products guide
The Chester County Board of Commissioners, along with the Agricultural Development Council are pleased to announce that the 2013 Local Farm Products guide is now available. Readers have the opportunity to find out more about food safety and the Chester County Food Bank's nutrition education initiatives, as well as how farmers use innovative technologies and Best Management Practices to protect soil, groundwater and their business's bottom line. And of course the guide includes a list of over 100 producers within the county and maps their locations to help people find farm fresh products. The map is now interactive online.
The Chester County Planning Commission in partnership with Chester County Human Services Department, Chester County Department of Community Development, and county transit agencies created a Ride Guide showcasing Chester County's transit system. Chester County is served by four public bus providers, two rail providers, a county-wide paratransit system and taxi service in select locations of the County. Traditionally information on these services has been scattered throughout multiple agency websites. The Ride Guide serves as a one-stop resource to inform and direct transit users to the appropriate transit options that address their particular transportation needs. We encourage anyone who is an existing or potential transit user within Chester County to explore what the Ride Guide has to offer.
Planning Tool Kit
The planning tool kit is designed to help municipal leaders and planning commissioners implement the policies of Landscapes2. Successful implementation of the plan, requires partnering with local municipalities in order to bring growth and preservation together.
The tool kit provides a series of actions available to municipalities and interested citizens that conserve energy, promote our economy, respect the environment, and achieve sustainable practices. Tools will explore their value, their appropriateness based on the type of landscape your municipality is located, and provide a road map for how each can be implemented. To allow further exploration, case studies, examples and links are included.
